what is the different btn renaming virus and deleting virus?. If u rename a virus does it mean that it can't cause any more infections or...?. If u wanna delete it manually u must rename it first?. Pls help. *

I hvn't heared tht sm1 renamed d virus. N even if renamed, it won't b harmless. So better delete it vid ur AV *

yeah,if it was very poorly written,it would be anough. better written malware use memory,registry,infect other files.. and the original exe becomes nothing but code launcher. some malware though may use a list of executable filenames and run a loop or such,that would end all processes with that name and renaming say procexp.exe or renaming malware removal tool from its original name to a genuine windows exe name may trick the virus to let you execute it. *
