its a very lighweight operating system which is supposed to get you online quickly rather than having to wait an age for (even) windows 7 to boot up. typical boot times are claimed, I say claimed to be little more than 7 seconds. its based on linux. (how many people have noticed just how slow win 7 is on boot up even on powerfull systems?) mind you ive found win 8 consumer preview to be much faster on boot up, a good sign? I think one thing we also have to remember is that even once windows has booted up you cant allways do anything straight away and appparantly the google O.S fixes this * +

even if it would boot in a nanosecond,i don't trust google. with all the analytics running around the web sticking its nose in my privacy,do they really expect i would be stupid anough to browse through their own operating system?? hilarious. * +
