My old pc recently decided 2 go mad n now doesn't start up, I have been told you can use the hard drive on my new pc as a slave to get all my pics n music from it. My friend did this 4 me but the problem is i had it password protected so it just says access denied. Can anyone help? by which software u put passwoard on that harddrive ,use the same method to open that drive ,whats so hard in this. * +

It doesn't ask for a password...I had 2 users on the pc so when logging in i had to put my password in now anything i want to access from my documents appears with a lock by the side of it. * +

Log on as Administrator, or as a user with administrator permissions. and delete other user accounts * +

is that possible to do when the only way to access it is to have it as a slave on my new pc? I'm really grateful for any help as i have 1000's cd's and 100's of pics i really need to access xx * +

If it's any help the hard drive itself will not boot just gets to the windows is starting up screen then swithes off and starts all over again that is why i have had to have put in my new pc as a slave.. * +

i myself never come across problem like this, if problem is just windows is not booting then there is someting wrong with windows system itself,why dont u go back to old pc put that harddrive as master and repair os/system itself or go into safe mode and backup inportent files/data * +
