the reason i was asking is i made several vob's using format factory. on TV and on pc with dvd rewritable drives they work however some dont work on the normal dvd rom/cdrw drive. strangest thing ever! so was thinking of trying mpeg as that is universal and should play on all pc's or is avi better? save myself the hassle and just drag and drop em as they are in avi format. and then worry abot mkv and mp4 formats later * +

i tested a whole lot of them. lack of extra cores on my pc results in long times. the only reason i was using plain vob is coz it was quick. will stick to avi and mpeg for now as they are more or less universal. then in future convertxtodvd will be the prog of choice. thanks for the input * +
