Hello. My PC isn't reading any CD or DVD disc, even with an external device. This started a while ago, i weren't using my DVD drive for a long time, then, when I needed it, it just didn't read any disc. Today I borrowed an external BD drive from a friend. It's powered, the drivers are installed, but still it doesn't read anything. Both drives behaves the same - they're spinning the disc, the LED blinks 3 times then goes off for some seconds, then again blinks 3 times, and so on. What could * +

It could be that the laser lense on your dvd drive has gotten dirty, scratched or is out of alignment. If canned air does not fix it, you'll have to buy a new dvd drive since a repair would cost more than replacing it. * +

Hell dude, you have not offered any advice whatsoever. So (stfu) instead of trolling If the both drives are used frequently, especially in a dusty enviroment, they can go bad . Especially if they are used for disc to disc copying. But I also have to wonder if it is an Ivy Bridge problem too. Those first generation models had some problems like that when they overheated. * +
