I've got a 2TB usb3 verbatim hdd. When I plug it 2 any comp or laptop all the files on the hdd views as shortcuts. I no it has to be a virus, I scanned it n removed the virus that was on it but it still views as shortcuts. What can I do to fix it without losing all my files? * +

Right click on one of the bigger sized files on the harddrive, click properties. Whats it reporting as the file size? * +

Checkout d size of ur disk and make sure it contain d size of ur contents, if so u may get ur data back using some s.ware's. Else .. .. .. Forget it * +

i had the same problem bro but whtz helped me was to format my pc and install service pack 2,this cn also coursed by dat yo pc gt the same virus dats is in yo exterNal drive * +

you can use erd explorer to unhide or reset the attribute of all files and folder of the hard disk. this could be found in Hiren boot cd *
