iam puzzled why you would need to change the hard drive to resolve a sound issue? it doesn't sound like an old laptop anyway which means changing parts may void the guarantee in any case. you could be suffering from a case of cpu throttling which can cause sound defects speak to toshiba. Alternatively try deleting your sound driver in device manager and reinstalling if windows 7 doesn't do it automatically on boot up. * +

I've since learned that Toshiba have a problem in their laptops wifi driver which affects the playing of audio either streaming from the internet or playing through a media player or in my, which was my real problem, music production suites or DJing software. altough I updated the sound device driver the problem now only seems to persist when I'm online(eg. youtube or soundcloud) I don't seem to have the problem through the media and the other software stated. atm I am ok with it the way it i * +
