Making windows7 setup bootable is very easy but XP has always some conflicts in booting from USB.... From my experience, majority of motherboards refuse to boot XP setup from USB/Pendrive.... But who knows, your lappy may support it... There're planty of small freewares available to make bootable pendrive... Just google.... *

win2flash and Sardu are best! However you may need to put sata drivers etc in the image and/or go into the bios of the laptop/netbook etc and change the settings to compatibility mode! Goodluck! *
