For downloading files more then 2GIG what would you say is best to use wifi or cable and best time to do it so no slow time etc on virgin media *

Either, so long as you don't have problems with disconnecting when using wireless. Times when you're free to download as much data as you want without being throttled are from 9pm-10am and 1 hour in the daytime at 3pm-4pm.
