if a card has 2 ports ...vga,dvi, correc me if i'm wrong and one port becomes deffective,could u just buy a cable for the other port and plug it into your monitor? will it do the same job and will it fit into your monitor i hope you get the question * +

U would need a dvi to VGA adapter if ur monitor only has a VGA port * +

its unlikley a port connector would just stop working without an underlying cause. so even if you got another lead and connected it , its likley it wont work also. fair einough if you broke a pin off in the port or somthing but if it just stops working with no physical signes of damage then its likely something else broke not just the port. * +

excactly my thought's so i gave it to my bro,to check it out in his pc and the port and card works fine,so my cable connected to the mobos grafics also works fine,so it must be the mobos card slot * +
