Celeron g530 is twice as fast as Athlon x2 5000. If you are looking for a budget cpu though get a Phenom II x4 955 Black Edition. Cheap as hell and tears em both to shreds * +

All current amd processors are slower than their intel equivalents where cpu power is concerned. But they do have better on chip graphics performance than intel. The obvious solution is to have an intel cpu and a seperate amd graphics card. * +

phenom x4 955 is almost 3 times more the price of g550 here. g550 seams like the best choice. i am not forced on an upgrade right now. and i don't like this new uefi bios. i was thinking of upgrading but seeing they force it on every new motherboard, i'll take my time. thanks anyway * +

why is g550 a shxt processor? athlon x2 5000 does a nice job for me, if g550 is twice as strong, it should be a nice update. unless im missing something. hardware comes and goes, in a few years, i'd probably be forced to update again, why shell out all the extra cash for the performance i don't need now when this works just fine. if g550 is twice faster then my amd, then i'd say its what i need. i've seen some benchmark results and in this price range, i can't find anything better. * +
