Ok got an old p4 pc to repair to give it to a poor family who can't afford it but the prob is at first it wasn'nt booting at all because mobo was touching cpu solved but then all I find is post screen with error cmos checksum error loaded to default press f1 to continue but doesn't works it freezes ctrl alt del doesn't even works cmos battery changed psu changed. Ram checked hdd was dead so installed my old 1 still doesn't works * +

flash the bios . Some old mobos have pins to clear cmos in addition to replacing battery. Turning PC on and off with these removed then reinsert..may help * +
