Is there a way in which external hard disk can be protected with a password? Anyone an idea to assist.

there are software for disk encryption... I haven't tried 1, but I am sure these software's will protect your external HDD from others. Google it and search it. * +

Just remember that when it comes to encryption, you get what you pay for. But I do hear that the Microsoft encryption software is pretty darn good. * +

Truecrypt has been beat already. In fact, it doesn't need a supercomputer to crack that encryption, just a decent desktop PC can do it. * +

I myself just zip files/folders and apply a password.. can that zip with a 40 character password be cracked easily??? @mok214 * +
