No software fix for what is a hardware situation. Otherwise, that outty is not an inny. This is why I recommend going to the manufacturers website and downloading all the manuals before committing to buy a product that you are interested in. * +

You can't convert a output in input. There are a few selected laptops that come with HDMI input. * +

my mate wandered what would happen if he plugged his tablet via its hdmi connection into the hdmi port of his laptop, think he was hoping to use android on his laptop. I advised him not to try, in theory it wouldnt work anyway cos the laptop has hdmi out not in. Hdmi out to hdmi out a kind of brick wall lol * +

there are couple apps available to stream an android display onto a pc however it didnt work for streaming video (to slow). They may have fixed that by now, was a year ago when i was messing with it.

thanks for that 0.0. Yes mok214 quite correct. Its a simular scenario with combined stereo systems which have either one way or the other, unlike hi fi separates which will have both audio in and out. *
