I have a aspire one w7 netbook thats been giving me problems for a while now with download speeds dropping to 10kbs at times. Am already aware the wifi hotspot networks may be overloaded, or that malware could cause this. What i am looking for is what to check on this pc. Have already updated the wifi driver. an my signal is good at 4 bars usually. Any ideas at all? * +

maybe the owner of the hotspot is capping or limiting downloads to such a speed after a certain download limit or time limit has been reached. * +

From what ive read so far that is quit possible, however there not all hotspots I just think it has something to do with this netbook. * +

1: Close or uninstall any unneeded apps . 2: Run an antivirus scan. 3: You got an Aspire, so what did you really expect out of it? * +

1: i have a total of 15 programs 4 of which i installed. 2: AV comes up clean 3: Use to work great an some days it still does. * +

Then I would suggest a USB WiFi adapter. ALFA Networks makes nice ones at an affordable price. *
