I have two media players installed on me lappy,windows media player and winamp. Both have always worked fine,but recently when I open the windows one,it works but does not have any sound??? Any ideas??? The sound on the winamp one is fine so speaker settings,etc are fine??? (Rolleyes) *

Have you checked if you have accidentally muted the sound down on WMP as it has it's own slider (lol) *

its a known issue if you search 'microsoft fixit' that resets it for you. *

Disable Winamp Agent if you have set WMP as your default media player. I'm not sure how it happens, but Winamp Agent can steal audio focus from WMP. *
