Is it possible to view the vids on youtube via your phone. Can see site using opera. But can't watch anything. Do i need to download some sort of application? * +

it's possible but Youtube doesn't allow this, only Verizon US subscribers can watch videos through their mobiles yet. there were several attempts to make youtube videos available for mobiles but Youtube banned them. There are some sites claiming they enable you to download youtube videos but don't believe them, they only let you download few videos uploaded by users * +
