So, ive got it. On your sim card there is a number 2.1,2.4,2.6 and 3.1 me thinks. 3.1 being the fastest, able to get you the best speeds. Iv'e got a standard 32k simcard with 3.1 on it and I can do HSDPA/3.5g with it. Getting me between 80 and 180kb/s. You only need a 3g simcard if you want video calling. *

with my SE M600i and a standard 32k sim I got 450kb/s, when I took dat sim and put it in my HSDPA pcmcia card I got 1.8mb/s. hw do u like THEM apples *
