Bearing in mind that I don't know your phone specifically (just checked out the specs) it's possible that wherever your java apps are installed there's a section in 'options' called 'permissions'. These would be like: 'Allow Network Access?' and 'Allow Read/Write Data' you should ensure that all these are checked 'yes' for Opera Mini. The permissions may be located somewhere else on your phone - perhaps if you have an 'application manager' or whatever. * +
