Its got to be the worst for account for recieving threats to your pc. Does anyone get junkmail offering things like slovakian woman pics to download and all kinds of cr*p? * +

Every email account I have (11 at the last count) receives a roughly equal amount of spam - a huge amount in all cases, but without question Gmail is the best at separating it out, I never see it unless I deliberately logon and delete the contents of the spam folder. * +

I use hotmail and get very little spam, not even enough to be able to count. possibly 1 a week. Make sure when you sign up to outside forums etc, that you hide your email particulary public groups that run via google. * +

Good advice there from dani - I've got an 'email me' link on my webpage (the address isn't visible, just a button) and that generates a HUGE amount of spam. Since we're talking about it, I'm sure everyone gets these, but WHY? The mail is always headed 'Hello' or 'Hello Dear' and goes on 'blah.. saw your profile on.. blah.. want to get to know you better.. blah.. race * +

Now these come from all countries and different email addresses and are virtually IDENTICAL in all cases, so what exactly does the sender hope to achieve? * +

10 percent of a jpeg picture can be used for to hide any file. So with a picture the size of around 400 kb a file of approximately 70kb can be hidden. That's big enough for any malware. No firewall or antivirus can detect it. If your using a computer and your running it in the admin acount your in trouble but if your a normal user the av will block it as soon as it escapes from its hiding place.
