ok, php is pre hypertext protocol.. Like it runs server side n outputs html output... It's pretty much you just echo the html code... Since it's server side you can run a few functions or code to build desired output... Ie: on mysql check count from messages where userid=whatever, then php: if result greater than 0, echo 'you have unread messages...' Kinda thing just what i typed now will cause syntax errors, lol * +
