Ok, as an answer to your question, dont use 3g as you get ripped off by the data plans. my advice to you is to switch to telkom adsl n get a fixed line unshaped... true, you only get your cap but you also get a generous amount of local only bandwidth that there are tricks to surf international content on... the speed not as good as 3g but connection constant n doesnt get shaped like the 3g ones... * +

Oh yeah n another thing, i dunno why the networks call them unlimited data plans too, cause to my knowledge most people i know online have never heard of caps n restrictions on data usage, etc... and considering the fact that i know the networks buy their bandwidth for under 5 rand a gig and it costs them around 10 cents a day to keep a phone connected to their towers, etc... so Taking all this info they never make public into account n work out if its still a bargain or not... * +

there's restictions on all uncapped adsl packages too. it's called Acceptable Usage Policy. *
