Subject: Ford laser problem

releasing clutch it stops, and the left hand side doesnt spin at all. A friend told me it could be clutch and pressure plate but when the cv popped out of the old box we could hear the gearbox spinning when putting car into gear and releasing clutch. So i doubt its the clutch and pressure plate. Im guessing the gearbox i bought is broken aswell. Any help much appreciated.
