Big engine are slowly dieing out it seems even more so in the hot hatches at one point most manufatuers were going for 2.0ls now look at the supermine hot hatches polo GTi for example its a 1.4 which nowadays sounds e but withba supercharger n turbo as standard 180 BHP 0-60MPH is around the 6sec mark and driven carefully will return 45MPG
