Is it a heavy knocking, and does the knocking speed up and get louder the higher you rev it? A knocking from the bottom and oil pressure light coming on could indicate a connecting rod or cranks haft bearing worn . Without actually hearing the sound its a difficult to say for sure. Your best bet would be to have a good mechanic have a look at it.
