While crazy theories and creative thinking tend to be common in the sci-fi fan community, the fact of the matter is given the substantial evidence, the theory makes a lot more sense than the scenes taken at face value, which make about... no sense at all. This isnt about closure or choices, its about having a basic level of coherence - if the events depicted in the final sequences were meant to be real, the writers responsible could not have thought about the script for more than five seconds.
