emicee, you are wrong to speak down to suges, the replies were perfect! hiphop as its known now, was given its name in the late 1970s, in America. yes, rhythmic poetry did exist before that time and may have originated from africa, but it was not known as hiphop! hiphop, so called, came from the bronx... fact!
