I was at university when a friend of mine whose father worked in the music industry told me Freddie Mercury had died. There was nothing on tv or in the papers about it so I assumed she'd got her info wrong until that is a week later when it was suddenly announced on the news that he had passed away just. Very strange. To this day I still think it was kept hush hush for a week.
