TWIG Discovery,combines mobile phone with GPS sat-nav

Twig has announced the World's first GSM/GPS personal navigation device in the Twig Dsicovery. It is the first personal navigation device on the market to combine GSM mobile telephony with GPS navigation capability. It combines the comfort and ease-of-use of in-car GPS voice guidance systems with the familiar, user-friendly and portable format of a mobile phone.

The company claims the device is the first of its kind to offer GPS satellite navigation with phone in a single handset. It is a tri-band (900/1800/1900) + GPS device that comes packed with Twig finder and Twig Route features. The Twig finder allows you to find your other TWIG-wielding friends, and plot a path to them. The Twig route uses clear, detailed mapping of street or road networks and navigates you the optimum route from where you are to where you want to go. In addition there is an alert system as well in case if youre lost or have a problem.

Perhaps the major disappointment though is the lack of multimedia goodies like java, digital camera, mp3 etc.,but still can hold its own in its main purpose, that is in navigation and location of other people.
